Every once in a while there is a player who seems to be unstoppable for every other team. With his speed and total control over the ball Lionel Messi is that kind of player. He is the example that shows that control and speed with the ball can be a great value. Being capable to accelerate and turn away from opponents in any position can lead to a lot of scoring opportunities. Each player can be more dangerous if they have the confidence to control the ball and beat a defender in a 1vs1 situation. The goal is to perfect a dribble with both feet and add that with more speed in the game.

What is taught in this class:

In this high level class every drill demands a full control over the ball. Players will be taught to dribble with both feet and doing that in a speed as high as possible. They will also be taught to recognize open space to move and dribble in. Being able to make quick turns and accelerate in those open spaces will lead to creating more opportunities in a soccer game.

The instructors will teach the players how and when to turn away from opponents, accelerating past opponents and finishing from out of a speed dribble and many more. All of this is being practiced on the highest speed possible with full pressure.

*This class has restricted registration. In order to participate, players must possess all prerequisite skills listed below. If during the session the curriculum is not a good fit; the player will switch to an alternate training class. 

Pre-Requests to Participate:

• Player has strong technical skills on the ball with their dominant & non-dominant foot & can replicate all skills/moves (but lacks decisive speed on the ball)
• Players does not shy away from 1v1 situations and
• Player needs to specifically work on the timing of making the move & acceleration after making the move.

Benchmark to Advance:

• The player has to be able to control the ball and change directions at high speed. 
• The player has to be able to recognize and execute effective combinations with teammates in order to beat the opponent in complex situations.
• The player has to be able to execute an end product in the form of pass or a shot on goal at high speed. 
• The player has to be able to protect the ball in high pressure situations in order to set up options to create dribble or pass the ball.
