S.T.E.P. Academy | Pre NJ Premier

DTS S.T.E.P. Academy (Soccer Training & Education Program) is open to Boys & Girls Birth Years 2020-2017. The program is geared towards committed junior soccer players looking to build a technical foundation and grow as a player to prepare for a soccer career at the travel or premier levels. 

What makes the DTS STEP Academy Different?
Over the last decade in soccer the emphasis for parents has changed drastically. Players at a very early age are pushed into high level clubs where the focus of the club may not be on long term development but immediate results. The eventual outcome is a high turnover rate for the teams, with coaches’ attention centered on recruiting better players instead of the development of their existing ones. S.T.E.P. takes away the stress of short-term focused programs and teaches players to love the game of soccer while pursuing their maximum potential.

We select players who are committed, who want to improve and learn the sport of soccer, and who are excited to be here! Our focus is on creating a positive growth opportunity for your player through character building and teaching the building blocks of the game to make sure they have the foundation necessary to succeed in the future.

Who are the DTS Staff?
The DTS coaching staff is composed of licensed professionals with credentials from both the United States and international soccer associations. Our coaches have trained players who have progressed to regional and national ODP levels as well as collegiate programs. Their goal is to create a strong developmental foundation for each participant, helping to shape the next generation of soccer talent.

What To Expect?
The DTS S.T.E.P. Academy offers a comprehensive, 10-month training curriculum that covers all aspects of player development. Throughout the year, our staff will provide ongoing evaluations and personalized guidance. Parents are engaged in the process to ensure alignment on goals and expectations, with an emphasis on long-term growth. All training takes place at our indoor and outdoor facility in Somerset, NJ. Players in STEP will be encouraged to test their new skills without fear of failure. Your child will become a more confident player!

Program Overview:
Duration: September through June
Total Training Hours: 70+ hours of professional coaching
Enrollment Options: Full-year or season-by-season registration

Training Schedule:
Fall & Spring Training (Outdoor): 2 x 1 hour sessions per week.
Winter Training (Indoor): 1 x 1 hour session per week.
